Boat Drinks

Yesterday morning, I left NJ at 6:25 am and raced back to Boston to make it to my friend’s bachelorette boat party. I had no idea there would be so much traffic that early in the morning!

I made it in plenty of time though, and after lots of packing, we headed to the yacht club to set sail.

We were well stocked with champagne of all types, Veuve Clicquot, Moet & Chandon, and a little Gloria Ferrer. We also had lots of sparkling water and tons of great snacks.

Veuve Clicquot

I ate about a dozen shrimp. All of the fresh air made me hungry!

I also ate a bunch of jarlsberg cheese, brie, strawberries, grapes, and carrots and cukes with the Chobani onion dip I made. It was SO delicious, and fat free!

After several hours of boating around, our captain (husband of one of the partygoers) dropped us off in downtown Boston. Talk about arriving in style!

We had a great outdoor table at RumBa at the Intercontinental Hotel.

We ordered off the Sushi-Teq menu, lots of different sushi rolls, sashimi, and more champagne.

We enjoyed a long, laughter-filled dinner overlooking Boston Harbor. It was the perfect day for the event, let’s hope the wedding day weather is as perfect!

We ended the evening with some dancing at a way too young for us Boston bar, Sissy K’s. I don’t think I have been there since my early 20’s! And someone actually called us old! The crowd was definitely VERY young, but the music was great, and we danced the night away.

I am exhausted from such a long day yesterday and will probably just take it easy today, some volunteering, grocery shopping, cooking, and working on my latest CRAVE Boston post.

It’s Boston Restaurant Week! Do you have any reservations? Last time around we had a great dinner at Rialto.

Restaurant week is the best! I love using that as an excuse to take co-workers to lunch – the two course pre-fixe for $17.95 can not be beat!

I’m sure you’ll let us know what you decide to try, if anything!

That looks like a fun party! I have been wanting to go to RumBa but haven’t made it yet. I used to love Sissy K’s! They really do play great must and when you’re with a group of girlfriends it’s a good time!

I, too, attended a bachelorette party this weekend — and am wishing we had drinks on a boat, followed by dinner at the Intercontinental! What a lovely combination.
