Travel Bug

Happy Thursday! Here’s to hoping the weekend brings better weather than we have had this week. Brr!

I have started to develop a MAJOR travel bug over the past couple of weeks, and I have spent a good bit of time looking through old travel posts, photos, and going online looking for great travel deals. I want to go somewhere!

Luckily, I found some unreleased photos from our trip to Ireland and the Czech Republic this past winter, and as I was reliving fun travel memories, I thought I would share them with you.

Prague

I loved walking over the Charles Bridge in Prague, but talk about cold! It was FREEZING while we were visiting as you can probably tell from my getup!

Sundown in Prague bathed everything in a beautiful, warm light.

We enjoyed a visit to an underground wine bar where we sampled Czech red wine while warming our toes. It was amazing and a little creepy to be so far underground. I love how old European cities are; if those walls could talk!

Another day, we visited a grand cafe overlooking the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. I enjoyed a real hot chocolate topped with thick, homemade whipped cream.

Back in Ireland, I made sure not to miss any of my favorite food haunts. McDonagh’s Fish & Chips is always a must stop, and I usually skip the fish and go straight for the chips with curry and garlic sauce. What can I say, I love my Irish chips!

Ireland offers 4 seasons in a day, and by the time we finished our chips and were heading toward the Spanish Arch to the car, we saw these kayakers coming in out of the fog. Creeeeeepy.

Are you traveling anywhere soon? If not, where would you go if you could go anywhere today?

I was in Prague around the same time as year as you (New Year’s 2007) and it was FAH-REEZING. Beautiful, but I thought my fingers were going to fall off. 😉

This is the first time in 5 years that I have absolutely no travel plans on the horizon, sadly. Probably will see a little of the East Coast this summer–want to visit friends in Boston, NYC and Chicago–but probably no international travel for another year. Have to start being a real adult. haha

I just got back from a trip to Denver. It always amazes me how different sections of the U.S. are from each other. Although in some ways Colorado and NH have a lot in common. I really want to go Ireland and the UK.

I actually really want to go to Prague. I love going through old travel photos! I just booked my honeymoon to Tunisia and Spain and last night I asked my fiance – “where do you want to go after that?” He laughed and said something along the lines of, let’s take one trip at a time.
