What’s better than eating some delicious, fresh fruit that’s been delivered to your door? Eating fruit and helping to fight MS, that’s what!

Edible Arrangements fruit arrangements are a healthy and beautiful gift for any occasion. I am a huge fan, as you can tell by the below photo from my birthday last Tuesday. My mom sent me this Edible Arrangements basket, and we polished it off in just a couple of days. It was a sweet way to celebrate, and it provided us both with healthy snacks.

Edible Arrangements

Orange Blossom

For the month of March, Edible Arrangements has been donating a portion of sales of their Orange Blossom arrangement to the National MS Society, New England Chapter. To celebrate this month of giving and to promote the initiative in its final week, Edible Arrangements have offered to give one lucky (New England) reader an Orange Blossom arrangement. Sounds pretty sweet to me! More details on the partnership between Edible Arrangements and the National MS Society can be found in the press release at the end of this post. Here’s how to enter to win:

1) Leave a comment here telling me your favorite fruit of all time.

2) For an extra entry, link back to this post on  Twitter with “I want to win fruit from @DoFruitNE and @traveleatlovemm.”

I will choose a winner on Friday morning.

Please note:

* Delivery is within a limited area only.  (Most of MA and Southern NH is included)

*Delivery to the winner will be during the week of April 2

Good luck!

National MS Society Partners with Edible Arrangements® to Raise Money for Multiple Sclerosis Research and Services

Proceeds from Edible Arrangements Orange Blossom® Sales During the Month of March Benefit National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter

Waltham, MA—March 1, 2012 —Today, the National MS Society, Greater New England Chapter announced its partnership with the Boston-Manchester Co-op of Edible Arrangements in a campaign to raise funds and awareness to stop progression, restore function and end multiple sclerosis forever.

During the month of March, coinciding with the National MS Society’s MS Awareness Month, Edible Arrangements stores throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire will donate a portion of their sales from every Orange Blossom arrangement purchased to the National MS Society. This arrangement is especially fitting because orange is the official color of The Society.  As long as arrangements are ordered and paid for during the month of March, they can be delivered at any time throughout the year.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to give back to the community and help fight a disease that affects so many people across the world,” states Chris Dellamarggio, inaugural Edible Arrangements franchise owner and president of the Boston-Manchester Co-op.”

“The National MS Society, Greater New England Chapter is thrilled to work with Edible Arrangements, a company that was built around celebrating life. This fundraiser helps individuals and families move together toward a world free of MS,” said Arlyn White, President & CEO of the Greater New England Chapter.

To order an Orange Blossom bouquet, call or visit any of the participating MA or NH locations or visit www.EdibleArrangements.com/MS and select any Orange Blossom arrangement (product codes: 1025, 1064 or 1066).

Hel-lo Monday! First off, I have to start with a HUGE thank you to all who came out Saturday for our Boston Marathon ALLY Foundation fundraiser! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We raised $2,000 from your generosity. Special thanks to Savin Bar + Kitchen for hosting us,  Double Cross Vodka for offering up some tasty cocktails, and our raffle sponsors: Brugal rum, Cow & Crumb Baking Co.,  Edgeware,  Karma Dawn Yoga, Le Creuset, Nespresso, North River Outfitters, Towne Nails, and Stop & Shop.

Also a special thanks to the wonderful Connie from The ALLY Foundation for bringing a special prize that included tickets to the Flip Flop Regatta and for calling the raffle for us.

I took a half day of work on Friday inadvertently after deciding it was a good idea to take Theraflu night time at 1:00. I have had a really bad sore throat and cough, and I needed some pain relief. I thought I could work through it, but it turned me into a zombie.

On Saturday morning, the last thing I wanted to do was to get ready for an event, but we had errands to run. After getting some grocery shopping done, and picking up the raffle cookies from Cow & Crumb, we decided to head to Kendall Square for brunch at Area Four.

But not before literally almost blowing away and also almost losing the car door due to wind! It was so windy that the wind flung my door open. The sound it made was not pretty.

Area Four

Area Four has a great vibe, and I am already looking forward to returning to hang out at their bar. I was feeling pretty awful, so I skipped the usual brunch beverages and had a green tea lemonade.

With comfort for my throat on my mind, I skipped all of the other delectable sounding menu items and went with the mushroom soup. It was a simple soup, but it was a perfect choice. The texture was velvety, and the flavors really earthy. It was delightful.

My husband had the breakfast sandwich which looked amazing. He ate every last crumb,

Saturday flew by, and it was soon time to head to Savin Bar + Kitchen to set up raffle items and to get some dinner. I enjoyed a germ-killing Beekeeper’s Bourbon with some mac and cheese, one of my favorite dishes at Savin.

And then it was party time! We had so many wonderful friends and family come to the party, and many of them brought friends as well. It was fun to meet new people, mingle, and raise money for a very important cause. The night went by so quickly, and it just made me want to spend more time with everyone!

I literally spent all day Sunday sleeping or laying in bed watching TV. I had planned on a day of work to help get in gear for the week, but a late night and my illness knocked me out. I guess sometimes it’s good to literally not be able to do anything.

How was your weekend?
