Boston Wine Expo

Boston Wine Expo

Happy Friday! I love Friday giveaways, and I have a great one for you. Remember when I got a sneak peek of the Boston Wine Expo? At that event, we learned about the many enhancements to the Expo, including a blogger program, social media lounge, new seminars, and more. The wine expo, which takes place in February, is certainly a great way to get in out of the cold, learn about new wines, and try delicious food made by Boston-area chefs.

To started getting people excited about the expo, I have been given a set of Boston Wine Expo Sunday Grand Tasting tickets to give to one lucky reader. The tasting is Sunday, February 17 from 1:00 – 5:00, in Boston.

According to the Boston Wine Expo website, the grand tasting is “A Global Adventure In A Glass”.

Sample wine from over 185 wineries around the globe and taste culinary creations from the area’s most popular restaurants. Plus there’s lifestyle and additional food exhibits…all presented in a dramatic new layout showcasing the four main wine regions of the world – North America, Western Europe, the Mediterranean and the Southern Hemisphere.
Other highlights:

Two stages spotlight the hottest chefs in New England

Social Media Lounge will be located in the center of the Grand Tasting, the Lounge provides a fun spot to view which wines attendees “like best” via the mobile app

More restaurants and food sampling – Cuisine from restaurants paired with wines in the Grand Tasting

To enter: You must be 21 years old. By entering you confirm that you are 21 or over.

Leave a comment telling me your favorite wine right now. (Since we did the Hooray for Vouvray tasting, I am loving Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley. Also recently fell in love with Riesling from Chateau Tanunda)

For an extra entry, tweet “I want to win tickets to @bostonwineexpo from @traveleatlovemm”

I will choose a winner next Friday morning (before we leave for Ireland and Italy aaahhhhhh!) Cheers!

I am planning to attend this event too (so no need to include me in the giveaway). Even though I can’t drink, it sounds like a fabulous event!

Currently my favorite wine is Argiolas Costamolino. This is a 100% Vermentino from the island of Sardenia of Italy. Its super fresh, clean and crisp. It has a wonderful full bodied mouthfeel with notes of soft citrus, apple and mild floral flavors. The acidity is perfect. I love this wine with spicy seafood, crunchy green salads, sushi and creamy cheeses. You gotta try it!! Cheers!

I never have the same wine twice (so many new ones to try out there), but the last one I had was Kunde Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

I’m so happy it’s winter because I have always loved the full and peppery spice of Garnachas. I’ve also been known to love really “dirty” old vine zinfandels (“lead” is a favorite note of mine). I miss having such easy access to wine in California, but the wine expo would be a great substitute 😉

Ooh what a giveaway! My current fave is Cakebread Cellars’ 2009 Dancing Bear Cabernet. I brought it home from a spring trip to Wine Country and – wow – it has incredible flavor!
