The Holiday Season in Boston

The arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau on Thursday provided a festive kickoff to the holiday season. With Thanksgiving just days away, my Pandora station has been directed toward Christmas music, and my head is swirling with thoughts of holiday menus, cookies, trees, lights, and all sorts of activities.

The Shops at Prudential Center are hosting festive holiday events between now and the end of the year. (Disclosure, I am doing the PR for these events, but I still thought my readers might enjoy them!) If you’ll be in and around Boston, there will be lots of cheer to be had!

Celebrate the holidays with The Shops at Prudential Center

Experience the magic of the holiday season in Boston.

Make The Shops at the Prudential Center a part of your holiday season plans! Throughout November and December, visitors can take part in a variety of festive activities for the whole family. From a gingerbread house contest to a world-record caroling attempt with Keith Lockhart, to a visit with Santa, Prudential Center will be glowing with holiday cheer for all.

November 18 – December 26 – Gingerbread House Display and Contest

Come by to see gingerbread houses created by Boston area attractions, like Boston Duck Tours and the New England Aquarium, set up in Huntington Arcade! A Facebook contest is being held to see what famed establishment has the most creative and original display.

November 25 – December 24 – Santa in the City

Kids of all ages can make memories by visiting Santa at his Back Bay workshop. Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, a variety of photo packages are available starting at $19.99. Visit the Santa Set for a complete list of available packages. Santa’s visit to Boston is sponsored by the newly-opened Magic Beans store in The Shops at Prudential Center.

December 3 (12:00 – 6:00) – Pops Goes the Holiday Season & World Record Caroling Attempt
Help us kick off the holidays at the 3rd Annual Pops Goes the Holiday Season event!  What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to join the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, Keith Lockhart, and thousands of your closest friends on the Christian Science Plaza as we attempt to set the World Record for the largest caroling group.  Afterwards head into Prudential Center for afternoon activities such as a CD signing by Keith Lockhart and musical performances in the Food Court. Visit prudentialcenter.com for details and a full schedule of activities.

The Month of December – 31 Nights of Light Each night, the top of the Prudential Tower will shine brightly in a different color, each one representing a charitable organization. Don’t forget to look up to see what color is lighting up the Boston skyline!

We used to go see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra every year. I’d really love to see the Pops some time!

Love it! I always walk around the city to admire the lights, but I’m always looking for other things to do.
