As you all know from my 2010 Boston Marathon experience, The ALLY Foundation is an organization near and dear to me, and I am excited to tell you about one of the many fun events they throw every year. One of Boston’s most fun summer events, the Flip Flop Regatta, is a weekend of sailing and parties, celebrating all the things that Ally loved while raising money to prevent opportunities for sexual violence. The Flip Flop Mt. Gay Rum tent parties are legendary for being great times, and if you are in town August 12 and 13th you should definitely check them out!
How your support is helping The ALLY Foundation
The mission of the Foundation is to prevent opportunities for violent sex offenses, to educate the public and advocate for necessary changes in culture, attitude and legal policy. The ALLY Foundation is the only national organization focused on systematically linked, effective and evidence-based solutions for sexual violence!
Did you know…
- There are 39 million adult survivors of sexual assault.
- 1 in every 4 women and 1 in every 7 men will be victims of sexual assault in their lifetime
-
This sounds like a great event for a great cause. Unfortunately, I will be away this upcoming weekend starting on Friday but I’ll keep this in mind for next year.
