This is a big one, Boston! As you may know, I recently started doing the social media for Red White Boston, the soon to be released iPhone app that will make buying wine in Boston easier. . . and fun! Hereβs a little about Red White Boston:
You’re on your way home, or you’re on your way to a party, and you remember that you need to pick up a bottle of wine. But where is the closest wine store? And how can you possibly choose from their walls of wine bottles? That’s where the Red White Boston iPhone app comes in.
Bringing to you, some of the best wines in the Boston area recommended by the areaβs finest wine shops. Read why your local wine experts think highly about the featured wines. Checkout the audio/video review of the wine (if available) within the app.
I am excited to be working for Red White Boston not only because of this app, but also because it is a resource for information on wine tastings, wine dinners, and other events throughout Boston. This city has such a great, wine-loving culture, and I look forward to making that even more widespread!
Red White Boston is doing a fantastic giveaway for those who live in the Boston area (or will be in the area on October 8).
The prize: 2 tickets to Ride Wine & Dine (http://pmcwinebenefit.org)
Spend an evening at the Boston Harbor Hotel enjoying the cuisine of Daniel Bruce, Executive Chef at the hotel, along with great wines, all to support the Pan-Mass Challenge and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
How to enter:
1) Follow @redwhiteboston on Twitter
2) Leave a comment on this post telling me, if you were to choose your top wines for the app, what would they be?
The winner will be chosen at random on Sunday (October 3). Please spread the word, and good luck; this will be a fantastic night out!

My fave wines for the app would be petit syrah and malbec, I love the varietals and am really getting into red wines lately (perhaps the change of season π

Congrats on the new gig! And this app sounds amazing – can’t tell you how many times we’ve driven around for half an hour trying to find a wine store before heading to a friend’s house for dinner. Love it!
I’d love to see Sekonnet’s Petite White, Wolffer Estate’s Chardonney, Petalos, and Made by G Sparkling Gamay NV on the app. The first two are local to the northeast, and the last two are from Spain and France, so it would be a nice variety π

This is an awesome giveaway!! However, don’t count this comment as an entry. While I’d like nothing more than to attend, I’ve got a rehearsal dinner that evening. The app is so cool. It should have a feature where you enter the type of cuisine you’ll be eating and it recomends a type or even brand of wine!!

In the spirit of a fading summer, Oyster Bay’s Sauvignon Blanc. A crisp, dry, expensive-tasting white for a mere $12 per bottle! It goes so well with Mediterranean food.
-
Love Shiraz, very rich and flavorful!
-
I always really love champagne or a sparkling wine

This is definitely the type of app I would have on my phone..I live on wine (and H2O because I must)! Coincidentally, I will be visiting my best friend from home in Boston next weekend and would absolutely love to attend this event!
The first wine I would choose for my app would be the Lucien Crochet Sancerre 2008.. I tried it recently and I think it’s one of the best Sauvignon Blancs around! For red, I would choose either a spicy Spanish Rioja or a nice Malbec. -
I really like Chateau St Michelle reds
-
Big fan of Francis Ford Coppola’s wine or any Malbec really. π

One of my favorite wines is A to Z pinot noir but really hard to choose….I love wine, what can I say!
-
My favorite wine is Trimbach Gewurtztraminer. Super aromatic and delicious!
