For Yoga Pose May, Tina and Kate assigned me Cobra, a pose I admit that I struggle with but one that is also incredibly helpful. Like most yoga poses, there is more than meets the eye with Cobra. According to the Yoga Journal, some of the benefits of Cobra does the following for your stressed out body:
I will admit, I felt really awkward being photographed doing yoga! Here I am on the deck, an ideal place for yoga. I love yoga on my back deck in the morning because it is the time for the best sun, but it is not too hot, and what better way to start the day than to get a good focused stretch in?
As someone who spends about 9 hours a day at my desk job and several additional hours working on blogging related things, I need to focus more on Cobra and the good it could do for my body, especially my back!
My all time favorite yoga pose (besides Child’s Pose and Savasana) is Downward Dog. Downward Dog is the runner’s best friend forever. It is a place of active rest for me, and it is inevitably where I find myself at the end of every run and sometimes in my office with the door closed 🙂
What is your favorite yoga pose?

Great reminder of the benefits of yoga and how great it makes you feel. I look forward to adding it back into my life soon.

Its hard to fit exercise in your busy schedule, but its hard to ignore the enormous benefits it brings to your life. Thank you for this.

So is cobra similar to upward dog but in upward dog you lift your thighs off the ground? I’ve never understood the difference between those two poses. I feel like some poses in yoga have like 6 names, way to confuse me!
Anyway, I like downward dog too, but my favorite yoga pose is definitely pigeon.
