Before I get to this morning’s post, I want to announce the winners of the Olivia’s Organics giveaway:
Corinne, Lara, Kyle, Marcie, and Jess
Please email me at traveleatlove (at) gmail.com with your contact info so Olivia’s can send your coupons. I have a feeling it is going to be a summer of Olivia’s Organics salads for everyone! Or at least us in New England. Thanks a MILLION to Olivia’s for partnering with me for this great promotion.
Yesterday was an interesting day at work. When I got to my office, I realized I hadn’t gotten any emails since about 4:00 the day before. When I saw the IT guys looking angry and running around, I realized we had a problem. Not only did no one have email, but I had no access to my FTP sites, the places where I store and transfer files for designers and proofreaders. Needless to say, there was not much work done. I tried my best, but who knew we relied so heavily on email?! 😉
Our office closed at 2, but since I knew I could be more productive at home, I left at 1 and went to the Copley Farmer’s Market. I hope you all don’t get tired of farmer’s market photos. I love them so much!
As I mentioned last week, I love Atlas Organic Farms:
And I admired some baguettes.
My destination this week, however, was the Herb Lyceum. I saw their lunch menu last week, and all I could think about was the cilantro falafel wrap. You may know the Gilson’s from their famous son, Will Gilson who is the chef at The Garden at the Cellar, an awesome Cambridge restaurant. If you haven’t eaten there, you should.
The falafel wrap was fresh and amazing. Pickled onions, spiced yogurt, and nutty falafel, I planned on eating this wrap after my 3 mile walk home, but ended up taking so many bites that it was long gone when I stepped in the door.
It was SO nice to have the afternoon off. I was not very productive. I watched the Real Housewives of NYC and played with my cats. Before long, the husband was home, and it was time for a date.
Note to self: if you are both exhausted and want to stay home, stay home. We ended up being lazy and having dinner close to home at 224 Boston. This restaurant is so close to our house, and it is so cute.
It has beautiful gardens.
They don’t have any draught beers, but they do have a nice bottle selection. I had this Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale. Look at the way it is poured. About 90%foam. 🙁
I ordered the coconut shrimp and a salad. The shrimp had an amazing orange marmalade sauce, but overall it was way too fried.
My Bibb lettuce was delicious. The blue cheese was sharp and tangy, and I loved every bite. . . until I found a black hair. EW.
The people next to us were horribly obnoxious. They were literally talking about how they started cheating on their spouses. Loudly and in detail. We obviously don’t blame this on the restaurant, but we both felt so icky when we left!!
I really WANT to like 224 Boston, but I always leave hungry and a little disappointed. Yesterday was pretty bad.
Getting home was a relief. Since it was a gorgeous night, we took full advantage of our deck and a Goose Island beer I bought at Boston Wine Exchange. Tina recommended this at Vino Voyage, and it is DELICIOUS. It tastes like brown sugar and a little bit of vanilla. It is totally a sipping beer, and I am so glad we tried it.
I think we may try again for another night out tonight. We have had some crazy days with some interesting Masters/work/blogging schedules, and it is so nice to reconnect with my hubs 🙂
What are your weekend plans? Whatever you do, be safe, and have fun!

Yuck, those people were cheating on their spouses with each other or other people? So sad…. that would definitely ruin my dining experience too. I personally feel like that behavior is in bad taste to begin with, but it’s 10x worse to talk about your poor ethics in public….
PS, I’m so jealous of your farmers market prices – so cheap compared to Chicago! 🙂
