Do you ever have one of those weekends that you were really excited about but end up feeling really sort of blah? That’s how this weekend has been so far. It started out with an early work closing which was nice, but then we had our sort of “Meh” dinner at 224 Boston Street.
After dinner, I was skipping down our hallway (what, you don’t do that?) and randomly slammed my hand into the door frame of my bedroom door. I thought that my finger was broken and spent all night Friday up trying to find a comfortable way to rest it. As a result, yesterday was painful and exhausted. The finger is about 50% better now, so I am assuming it isn’t really broken. I could go to a doctor to get it x-rayed, but who wants to go to the hospital on a holiday weekend?
Yesterday, after years of wanting a dog, I finally got my husband to agree to adopting one. And we found her at the MSPCA, an adorable little Cairn Terrier who jumped in our laps the second we sat down. We decided to leave the MSPCA to talk about the decision since it was such a big one, and when we got back, ready to adopt, she had already been adopted 🙁
I was feeling so blah yesterday that I didn’t even feel like eating much, and I definitely had a hard time thinking of anything to blog about!
This was as exciting as it got:
We did discover that Trader Joe’s all natural jalapeno chicken sausages are delicious. Topped with onions, relish, mustard, and ketchup. For me, the toppings definitely make whatever I am eating. I could eat a roll filled with nothing but condiments. . . weird, right? Same thing for ice cream, and often pizza and veggie burgers. The actual main food is just a vehicle to hold the toppings for me!
I’m going to try to fake it til I make it today and to cheer up a little today. It is definitely no fun feeling blah on a holiday weekend!
What are your favorite toppings. . . for ice cream, for burgers (veggie or otherwise), and for hot dogs?
