Farm at The Carneros Inn

Following our blissful excursion to Mumm Napa, we slowly made our way to Napa for dinner at Farm, a restaurant at The Carneros Inn.

When we were seated at our table, we were served an amuse bouche, compliments of the chef.

A shot of chilled, refreshing melon soup   Oysters were in order, of course.

6 Kumamotos went down smooth and easy.

For my meal I ordered two starters, a fig salad and chilled corn soup.

The salad had loads of fresh greens, pecans, blue cheese, and figs. The corn soup was sweet, cool, and delicious and may have had a little bit of salty, divine bacon on top. . . I was still hungry after this meal. Wine tasting is quite the workout after all! Flourless chocolate cake with creme de menthe ice cream had to be ordered.

That’s what I’m talkin about. I L.O.V.E flourless chocolate cake. It was like smooth, creamy fudge, and the minty ice cream provided the perfect refresher to cut the richness of the cake. Our outside seats had a nice heat lamp above them, so we were able to linger at our table while the sun set over Napa Valley. A perfect ending to another perfect day.

Dining out in wine country is an experience, and Farm at the Carneros Inn is definitely worth a trip.
