What a fine group of ladies!

How many of you have been watching the Healthy Living Summit today? If you watched or attended, what was your favorite part of the summit? Did you learn anything that surprised you? I learned SO much, and I can’t wait to put it into use.

I am going to do a full summit post chock full of photos of all of the festivities, new friends, and food, including the a-mazing swag bags, but for now, I will start with the kickoff cocktail party last night.

I had a really exhausted and  bad end of day at work and almost didn’t go to the cocktail party at all. I just didn’t sleep at all Thursday night due to the news that Michael Vick was welcomed back to the NFL and signed by the Eagles. My blood was and is absolutely boiling over this. . . deep breath. . .

Luckily, the hubs met me for a drink at MJ O’Connors and convinced me that I would be sad if I missed it. Phew! He’s wicked smart and often right! 😉

The party was at Rustic Kitchen near Boston’s Theater District. Being kind of a shy person and not actually knowing anyone in “real life”, I didn’t know what to expect, but I walked in, ordered a glass of Mark West Pinot Noir, and started chatting. In the first few minutes of the party, I met Kath from Kath Eats and Tina from Carrots N Cake. It was so cool to meet them in person after reading their blogs for the past few months! I also got to spend some time chatting with Andrea from Pom who was super sweet and had a lot of interesting things to say about her company and their product, which I will write more about tomorrow, but is super yum.

I love my pinot noir!

I love my pinot noir!

Shortly after, I met Katy from Silly Tater Tot and her mom, Lynna from Star Struk, two super friendly and fashionable bloggers. LOVED Katy’s shoes!

This party was just  full of fun and fashion-forward ladies, let me tell you!

Not long after we arrived, the food started coming out. . .

Fig pizza = heaven

Fig pizza = heaven

There was so much food! All different kinds of pizza and delicious arancini!I have never eaten at this Rustic Kitchen (I have been to the one at the Derby Shops in Hingham.) and I will definitely be back as it is super close to my office.

Everyone I met was so nice and interesting! Rustic Kitchen did a beautiful job with the food, and the summit planning ladies chose a perfect menu. There was lots of fun chatting about blogging, food, travel, work, and Boston. I felt like I was with a group of people I had known for a long while!

I am tired! We are off tonight to a cocktail party and have a busy day ahead tomorrow. I’ll be back with a summit follow up tomorrow, as well as a major Trader Joe’s grocery trip and my weekend long run. Up this week is my first recipe of the week, banoffee pie, which I have been dying for, and a look back at our wedding as we celebrate 3 years of marriage on Tuesday!!!

I hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday, and if I met you at the summit, do keep in touch! 🙂
