What a beautiful day! I started it out with a visit to the MSPCA to drop off a bunch of dog treats. Then we met my family downtown by the New England Aquarium for some lunch at The Landing before going whale watching. It was a blast! We saw a humpback whale breach, completely jumping out of the water and flipping over. Our boat was basically surrounded by whales. It was amazing, and made me sad to remember all of the whale on the menu in Iceland :(.
I didn’t take any food photos today, but I can assure you it was a day of vacation food. Pizza, chips, lobster roll, a couple of Amstel Lights and a glass of Travessia Vidal Blanc (which my sis loved by the way!). . . not my finest eating day, but it really felt like a vacation and I am now eating a ton of watermelon and water to rehydrate and fill up. Something about being out on the water all day is exhausting, but I wanted to write about last night’s dinner before I head for an early bedtime.
After work last night, we met my family in Cambridge to eat at Cambridge Brewing Company. The CBC is a casual place, and it was perfect to bring my 2 year old niece; it had a nice bustling amount of conversation and noise! The hub, my brother in law, and I ordered a pitcher of the CBC’s Jedi Mind Trick beer, which I really loved. The only downfall was that it wasn’t super carbonated, and I really love bubbly drinks. For my meal I ordered the fish tacos.
Gulf of Maine Acadian Redfish, Napa Slaw, Chili Lime Mayo,
Grilled Corn and Black Bean Salad
This was a delicious dish! My favorite part actually was not the tacos. They were pretty good, but the grilled corn and black bean salad was to die for! I love salads like this, and I definitely plan on trying to recreate it soon. I can’t imagine a more delicious work week lunch!
After dinner we walked around for a bit. My niece is 2 and is fascinated by everything. It is so joyful to see her little face light up over the smallest things!
When the hub, my mom, and I returned back to our condo, I had two deeeelicious Le Petit Ecolier biscuits and a huge glass of organic milk. Lately I have just been craving regular old cold milk.
Tomorrow we are visiting a farm and hopefully stopping at Nashoba Winery on the way home for a little tasting. Dinner may be a BBQ or dinner out at a great seafood restaurant. I am going to spend some time this evening planning restaurant week. We already have reservations at Upstairs on the Square and Vlora so far, but I am hoping to cram in a couple of others throughout the rest of the month.
I hope you are all having a great weekend! I can’t believe the Summit starts less than a week away. I am totally looking forward to meeting the attendess and hope to have the chance to meet all of you someday 🙂
