Meetings night #1 recap

Hi everyone!

I hope you enjoyed my first guest post last night. I was at a work dinner until late, and it was divine! I apologize for not having photos, but a formal dinner with 40 colleagues makes it a bit awkward!

I started cocktail hour with 3 glasses of San Pellegrino water with lime. It is SO humid here now, and I have been parched. While sipping and chatting, I filled my plate with a roasted red pepper, a few kalamata olives with red onion, a mozzarella ball, and marinated mushrooms.

Once we moved into the dining room, I had a glass of Ironstone Merlot, which I sipped on for the rest of the evening, along with a lot more water. For dinner, there was a massive buffet. I chose a big plate full of mesclun greens with goat cheese and cranberries, grilled aparagus, zucchini, onions, and mushrooms, and a giant mushroom ravioli, covered in a cream sauce with frizzled leeks. Oh my goodness! Rich, earthy, creamy goodness. This is a dish I will be trying to recreate this winter!

Before I made my sly exit (everyone else is staying at the hotel, but I live close by and am staying at home, woohoo!) I had a chocolate covered strawberry and a sliver of lemon cake.

Stay tuned for another guest post and more food recaps.
