Hello and happy weekend! My Friday at work was horrendous and frustrating, but it is over and time for my niece’s Dora party and a weekend at home. 🙂 I am sure today will be filled with lots of delicious bbq food (and a Dora cake, of course), and I will have lots of pictures for you later on.
The week after next is my company’s summer meeting where all of the employees from around the country get together for a few days. Usually we travel somewhere pretty neat , but this summer is right across the Charles in Cambridge and I can not be happier that I do not have to go anywhere! I am not even staying in the hotel. The days will be long, starting at 7:00 or 7:30 most days and ending with dinners that will go until past 10. There will be some fun; a trip to Todd English’s Figs and an outing on Thompson Island, one of the great islands in Boston Harbor. Staying at home is going to make such a lovely difference: my whole closet rather than packing a suitcase, a green monster before I leave for the day and am faced with unhealthy banquet food all day, my husband of course, and my beloved bed! I love traveling but for the most part never ever sleep when I am not in my own bed. I also need a sound machine and a fan on while I sleep. Are there any other high maintenance sleepers out there?
While I am at these 4 days of meetings and dinners, I probably won’t be able to do much blogging. That’s where all of you come in. I would love to hear about the best food experience you have ever had while traveling. Photos are of course welcome and encouraged. If you are interested just send me an email with your posting and photos before the end of the day on July 28th, and I will do my best to get them all posted throughout the summer. I will be sure to let you know when your post will be up.
It will be good practice for me to have guest bloggers here and there as my travel schedule starts getting more hectic in the Fall, starting with our trip to San Francisco. Speaking of, I can not believe how hard it is to get a reservation at The French Laundry! We are on waiting lists for every day we are in CA, and its 2 months away. I really am hoping to eat there, so keep your fingers crossed that we get moved off of the waiting list.
Up next week: we have a huge stack of 30 minute or less recipe cards that we get for free every time we stop at Shaw’s Supermarkets. I am going to try to make at least one a week and will post the results. I am also going to try to do a new workout every week and will post about that. AND we are going to Travessia Urban Winery for our first wine club event. I am very excited about getting to finally buy some of their recently released rosé. Exciting times ahead my friends! 🙂
**I am extending the deadline for the Nigella cookbook giveaway until Monday, so if you haven’t entered definitely do. I am not sure how late I will be home tomorrrow, and I will definitely have more time Monday evening to choose and announce the winner. I am so excited!
